IOP Surf Lessons, founded by Brycen DePass is committed to making surfing as fun as possible to aspiring surfers of all ages and skill levels.

Hey! My name is Brycen, I’m 22 years old and I am born and raised on Isle of Palms. I have been surfing for 17 years and teaching surfing for 6+ years, I learned on the same street we operate on and continue to surf there year round. I started IOP Surf Lessons because I wanted to share surfing with people the “right” way. Through instruction that is focused on being personal, safe, and tailored to exactly what’s going on in front of me. My goal has always been to build a team of real surfers who know and respect the ocean. I believe that great surf instruction can only come from true surfers who love what they do, not just people going through the motions.
IOP Surf Lessons continues to spread the love of surfing to as many people as possible and leave a positive long-lasting impression on everyone we cross paths with.
